New Tune!

"Phew!" I can hear you saying it... "finally she updated the music, if I had to listen to Iron and Wine one more time I might slit my wrists." Well maybe that's a bit drastic, I mean, you'd have to visit the Henley Happenings blog A LOT to be in such a dire state. Anyway, I've finally added a new song. YIPPEE! More to come, I promise.

I've been into Modest Mouse lately. I know, I'm always a bit behind the "new music trend curve" but I'm coming around.

It's Saturday night and I just returned from Safeway. I had this baby playing on the way to the store. I swear, it's like a new found freedom, almost like getting your license again when you get to drive somewhere without toddlers in the car and Laurie Berkner's "Fruit Salad Salsa" playing. By the way, I tried to find the Fruit Salad Salsa on playlist.com and much to my dismay it could not be found! So yes, it was exciting for me to drive the 5 blocks to Safeway with the music up nice and loud.

Modest Mouse also happens to be the concert Kyle was at the night I went into labor. We knew it was inevitable... if he went to the concert I would be guaranteed to go into labor. "I'll have my cell phone with me" he assured me as he left. Um yeah, probably not going to hear that baby ring at Red Rocks. Sure enough, not much later I was in a full on cleaning frenzy and pondering that periodic pain in my abdomen. Perhaps he was listening to this "Missed the Boat" song when I realized baby Darcie was on her way! Needless to say, he didn't miss the boat and little doodles was born the next day.

Okay, off to watch the movie I just rented from the Safeway dvd machine for $1.60, it's a wild night in Golden.

Tour de Fat - Denver - September 2008

This Saturday we headed down to City Park in Denver for the Tour de Fat. We enjoyed the cruiser ride around downtown and the festivities at the park afterward. We were in a rush to get out the door, so the costumes were marginal... the burley had a veil, both girls wore a tutu and each of us had a tiara on our helmet. Sarah showed up with pink hair and old skool shades. Next year we're going all out. Watch out!
